Falcons Finish Florida Training Trip as Final Dual Meets Loom
January 10, 2012 | Women's Swimming & Diving
The Bowling Green State University swimming team spent the first week of January on a training trip in Florida as it prepares for the last three dual meets of the season and the Mid-American Conference Championships, which are only six weeks away (Feb. 23-25).
The team trained in Pembroke Pines, Fla. and completed a total of 12 practices. The Falcons also had an unscored scrimmage against the Michigan State University swimming team. Of course, the trip would not have been complete without team-building activities, including snorkeling in the Atlantic Ocean.
Falcons' head coach Petra Martin said, "The training went really well. The girls worked hard during the trip but also got to come together more as a team. We enjoyed swimming against Michigan State and are looking forward to the next several weeks as we prepare for the MACs. Everyone is ready to go."
The team recorded part of the meet with Michigan State. Included below is video of the 300 medley relay from that meet.
