On Wednesday (Feb. 22), the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released its list of 2011-12 Scholar All-America Teams. The Bowling Green State University swimming team is one of over 150 schools in Division I to earn the distinction for the current season.
For the second consecutive year under head coach Petra Martin, the Falcons ranked among the top teams in the nation for cumulative grade point average. The team's 3.41 GPA is tied for 23rd in the nation.
Bowling Green is also one of the best teams in the Mid-American Conference. All eight MAC teams that sponsor women's swimming were named to the Scholar All-America Team list, and the Falcons rank third. The top MAC team was only slightly ahead of BGSU, with a 3.43 GPA.
