Kubuski, Ali Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Andrew Kubuski and gymnast Jamilah Ali.
Male Athlete of the Week
Andrew Kubuski, a sophomore from Elyria, Ohio, led the Falcons to a 4-1 record last week, going 9-for-20 at the plate. He scored six runs on the week, while knocking in 12 runners. In a 24-11 win over Malone, Kubuski went 2-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI. He led the charge Saturday, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and seven RBI against Eastern Kentucky, drilling two home runs, including a grand slam. On Sunday, Kubuski went 3-for-4 with one RBI, helping the Falcons to the series win.
Female Athlete of the Week
Jamilah Ali, a freshman from Toms River, N.J., scored a career-best 38.975 in the all-around to help the Falcons to a 193.675-190.950 win over Eastern Michigan. Not only did Ali win the all-around, but she captured top honors on vault (9.850) and beam (9.800) as well. The freshman added a fourth-place finish on bars (9.650) and a tenth-place finish on floor (9.675).
