Kubuski Named MAC East Player Of The Week

Kubuski Also Named College Baseball Insider Player of the Week
Cleveland, Ohio-Andrew Kubuski was named MAC East Player of the Week by the Mid-American Conference office on Tuesday. Kubuski, a sophomore from Elyria, Ohio, led the Falcons to a 4-1 record last week.
Kubuski went 9-for-20 on the week in wins over Dayton, Malone, and Eastern Kentucky (2). He scored six runs on the week, while knocking in 12 runners. In Bowling Green's 3-2 win over Dayton on Tuesday, Kubuski went 1-for-3 with a run scored. The next day, the Falcons defeated Malone 24-11, with Kubuski going 2-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI. Kubuski went 1-for-5 with an RBI in Bowling Green's 10-8 loss to EKU on Friday. He led the charge on Saturday, however, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and seven RBI. In the 22-2 win over the Colonels, Kubuski drilled two home runs, including a grand slam. On Sunday, Kubuski went 3-for-4 with one RBI, helping the Falcons to the series win.
Kubuski is batting .364 on the year, and has started 18 games. He has hit five doubles and two home runs, while scoring 10 runs and knocking in 16 RBI. He has also had three outfield assist thus far, including one to end the game against Georgetown in Winter Haven.
This is the first time in his career that Kubuski has garnered Player of the Week honors.
Kubuski also garnered regional player of the week honors from College Baseball Insider on Tuesday.
