BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Freshman Shelby Wilson once again leads the Falcon charge and will enter the final day of the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational in a tie for third place, but the Bowling Green State University women's golf team found itself tied for fifth after a rainy and chilly 18 holes on Saturday (April 14) at the Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Wilson shot a 39 on the front nine and followed it up with a 37 on the back nine for an 18-hole total of 76. She ended the round three shots behind the tournament co-leaders, Elizabeth Ecker of Oakland and Megan Weaver of Ohio University. Wilson is in a four-way tie for third place. Her career-best finish is sixth, which occurred in October's Zippy Invitational.

The Falcons scored a composite 324 during Saturday's round. The team is tied with Loyola (Chicago), four shots behind Ohio and six behind Detroit Mercy. Oakland (310) is the tournament leader by four shots over Indianapolis.

Bailey Arnold posted BGSU's second-best score of the day after shooting an 81. Three Falcons are tied at 82 -- Patricia Holt shot 41 on both sides of the course to earn the score for the team, while Jen Blanchard and Kelsey Benson each shot 82 while playing as individuals. Arnold is tied for 23rd, while Holt, Blanchard and Benson are all tied for 28th.

Team captain Amy Ruthenberg shot an 85, while senior Paula DiFrancesco began her final run at her home tournament by carding an 86.

The second (and final) round will commence on Sunday (April 15) with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start. Final results will be available shortly after the conclusion of the round on Sunday afternoon.
