Falcons Set To Play Ball State In Third MAC Tournament Game
May 10, 2012 | Softball
AKRON, Ohio. -- The Bowling Green State University softball team will play Ball State Friday morning, facing off against the Cardinals at 11 a.m. Both teams have already suffered one loss in the double- elimination tournament, so Friday will mark the end of the playoff push for one of the two squads.
The Falcons were 0-2 against Ball State this season, losing a pair of games to the Cardinals in the final weekend of the regular season. Ball State is the only MAC team Bowling Green failed to defeat this season, securing at least a split against every other team in the conference. Ball State is also the only team to hold the Falcons scoreless, shutting out the Orange and Brown 0-6 in the first game of their weekend set on May 5.
Juniors Paige Berger, Hannah Fulk and sophomore Katie Yoho led the Falcons in hits against Ball State this season, each recording three in the two game set. Fulk and Berger each recorded a home run against the Cardinals, while Fulk led all of the Orange and Brown with three RBI. Freshman Paris Imholz and Jamie Kertes each went 0-1 against Ball State, each getting one start against the Cardinals.
The Falcons are 2-2 against the Cardinals over the past two seasons, with Bowling Green holding the all-time series advantage with a 49-35 record. The first pitch of Friday morning's game is set for 11 a.m.
