Bien Named To All-MAC Second Team

The Mid American Conference announced the all-conference teams on Tuesday night, and Bowling Green State University freshman Brian Bien, has been named to the all-MAC second team. Bien, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, was a 2011 graduate of Roger Bacon High School.
On the season, Bien hit .345 in his 47 appearances, starting 43 games for head coach Danny Schmitz. He had an on-base percentage of .396, while leading the Falcons with seven stolen bases. Bien scored 26 runs on the season.
Bien led the Falcons in MAC play with a batting average of .357 and fielded .965 during conference play. Bien anchored the Falcons from the leadoff spot for much of the second half of the season, which included an eight game hitting streak from April 15 - 29. On the season, Bien had 17 multi-hit games.
Along with Bien, the Falcons will return all eight position players who started the majority of games during 2012 next season.
