Two Falcons Named Academic All-MAC

Seven Others Garner MAC Honor Roll
Two Falcons have been named to the 2012 Academic All-MAC team, released Thursday morning by the Mid-American Conference office. Patrick Martin and Andrew Kubuski were the two Falcons voted on to the team by the faculty representatives around the MAC.
Patrick Martin, a native of Oregon, Ohio, graduated in May with Magna Cum Laude honors in Adolescence to Young Adult Education. He graduated with a 3.75 GPA. Martin had an illustrious career as a student-athlete at Bowling Green State University, as he was named the male recipient of the department's scholar-athlete award for his efforts during his junior and senior years. He also received the highest honor given to a student-athlete at Bowling Green, being named the 2012 recipient of the Falcon Medal of Honor. On the field, Martin was a steady presence on the mound during his senior season, appearing in 24 games. He also started nine games, while leading the Falcons in strikeouts with 46.
Andrew Kubuski, a native of Elyria, Ohio, was named to the team following his sophomore season at BGSU. Starting 50 games in left field, Kubuski led the team with a .367 batting average. Kubuski, majoring in Mild-Moderate Intervention Specialty, currently holds a 3.380 GPA. The Falcon left fielder led the team in a plethora of offensive categories during 2012, including batting average (.367), slugging percentage (.449), at-bats (196), and total bases (88). Kubuski started the most games for the Falcons, with 50, while also knocking in 30 RBI. For his efforts during the week of March 13, Kubuski was named MAC East Player-of-the-Week, as well as College Baseball Insider's Regional Player-of-the-Week.
On top of Martin and Kubuski, seven Falcons were named to the Academic Honor Roll for the Mid-American Conference. Those Falcons include T.J. Losby, Ethan McKenney, Ben Singer, Jake Thomas, Logan Walker, Kevin Delapaz, and Chris Miller.
