Bowling Green improved by five positions over the first two rounds at the Catawba Island Club.

Port Clinton, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team finished day one at the 2013 Rocket Classic, currently sitting in second place with a score of 622 (319-302). The Falcons completed the first 36 holes at the Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton, Ohio. Toledo University leads the field of 13 teams after firing a 597.
The Orange and Brown sent seven competitors to the tournament, but only five could compete for the team. Junior Shelby Wilson and sophomore Lily Bartell shot identical scores of 154 (79-75) to lead the way for Bowling Green. Both are currently sitting tied for 14th position.
Also competing for the Falcons was junior Patricia Holt, who improved by nine strokes in her second round of the tournament. Holt finished the day with a 155 (82-73), placing her tied for 18th overall in a field that featured 79 total players.
Sophomore Hannah Lewis and senior Bailey Arnold also competed for the Orange and Brown. Lewis carded a 159 (79-80) and Arnold finished her 36 holes with a 163 (83-80).
Freshman Mikayla Baer and senior Kelsey Benson rounded out the players that competed for Bowling Green. Playing as individuals, Baer carded a 167 (87-80), improving by seven strokes in her second 18, and placing her tied for 55th position. Meanwhile, Benson also improved over her second 18, firing a total score of 160 (82-78), placing her tied for 33rd overall.
The team will be right back in action tomorrow morning with the same lineup. The shotgun start is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
