October 24, 2013 | Women's Swimming & Diving
The Bowling Green State University swimming program will begin their 2013-14 dual meet schedule on Saturday, as they travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. for a meet with Eastern Michigan. The meet will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday's meet will begin a stretch of four consecutive dual-meets for the Falcons, as they travel to Miami, Xavier, and Oakland during November.
Â
"We are excited to start the dual meet season," head coach Petra Martin said. "Eastern Michigan is a tough competitor and always swims very well at home. We will be up for the challenge on Saturday and ready to race."
Â
Bowling Green is looking to springboard last season's success into more success in 2013-14, as the Falcons finished third at the Mid-American Conference Championships a season ago. The Orange and Brown were picked to finish second in this season's MAC Coaches' Preseason Poll.
Â
Saturday will be EMU's second dual meet already in 2013-14, as the Eagles have already competed at Northwestern and against Illinois. Last season, Eastern Michigan finished in fourth place at the MAC Championships, right behind the Falcons.
Â
Falcon swimming returns a plethora of talent this season, in addition to eight freshmen joining the team. Â At least one swimmer returns from every school record-breaking relay team, and five swimmers return with individual school records of their own.
Â
