
Women's Golf In Fourth After Day One

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team started their fourth tournament of the year on Monday (Oct. 7), playing at The Preview in Fishers, Ind. The two-day event started this morning with a shotgun start beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Falcons came into the clubhouse with a team score of 321 (+33), placing them fourth overall after 18 complete.
The field featured 16 total teams, including MAC foes Ball State, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Toledo, Akron, Ohio and Northern Illinois. The Orange and Brown trail Toledo (304), Ball State (311) and Eastern Michigan (314) through round 1.
Head coach Stephanie Young showcased a lineup of Bailey Arnold, Lily Bartell, Patricia Holt, Hannah Lewis, Shelby Wilson and Mikayla Baer - who played as an individual.
Bartell and Lewis led the way for Bowling Green, as each Falcon shot identical 79's on the day. Bartell fired a 1-over 37 on the front nine, before coming into the clubhouse with a 42 on the back. Lewis improved by one shot over her final nine holes, coming into the clubhouse with a 39.
Wilson, who won medalist honors at the Cleveland State Invitational, followed the sophomores with an 80 (41-39), while Holt came in with an 83 (41-42). Arnold also played for the Falcons, shooting a first round score of 85 (45-40).
The same five will compete for Bowling Green tomorrow morning at Hawthorns Golf Club.
