
Falcons Finish Seventh at The Preview

12 birdies over the two days help Bowling Green finish seventh.
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf team finished The Preview with the same team score from round one, shooting an identical 321, handing them a total of 642 (+66) to finish in seventh place. The 36-hole tournament, which was held at Hawthorns Golf Club in Fishers, Ind., featured 16 teams, including seven teams from the Mid-American Conference.
Eighth year head coach Stephanie Young showcased five Falcons' and one individual over the two days. As a team, Bowling Green had 12 total birdies, 82 pars and had played the par-3 holes 15-over.
Junior Shelby Wilson, who won medalist honors in at the Cleveland State Invitational, carded a 158 (80-78) over the two days. Wilson improved by two strokes on the final day, helping her place 16th overall in a field of 94 players.
Sophomores Lily Bartell and Hannah Lewis also competed for the Falcons. Bartell carded a 162 (79-83), placing her tied for 31st for the tournament, while Lewis finished right behind her, posting a 163 (79-84).
Bowling Green saw improvement from Holt and Arnold. Holt shot a final round 81, which was two strokes better then her first 18. For the tournament, Holt carded a final 164 (83-81), placing her tied for 38th. Senior Arnold had the biggest improvement over the two days for the Falcons. Arnold improved by six strokes, with a 79 over the final 18, helping her finish 164 (85-79).
Freshman Mikayla Baer also competed as an individual for Bowling Green. Baer also improved in her final round, shooting an 84, which was two strokes better than her first round. Baer recorded a 170 (86-84) over the two days.
The Falcons will be right back in action next week, as Bowling Green will head to the annual Rocket Classic in Port Clinton, Ohio. The tournament will be held on Oct. 14-15, wrapping up the Falcons fall season.
