Falcons wrap up play at UC Invitational
Team scores were not kept at the tourney, which included Ball State and Xavier, as well as the Falcons and host UC.

The teams played a hidden dual format, with BG's Saturday slate including three doubles matches vs. XU and six singles matches with both BSU and UC. Fillis teamed with senior Emily Reuland for an efficient 8-1 win against a Musketeer duo in doubles action.
Then, in singles play, Fillis split a pair of sets with UC's Katya Bure before winning a tiebreaker. The BG soph again went to a tiebreaker against BSU's Bethany Moore, and Fillis lost just one point in that 'breaker en route to the win.
On the weekend, Fillis had an overall record of 4-2 to lead the Falcons.
Reuland was 2-1 overall on Saturday, with a straight-sets singles win over the Bearcats' Caitlin O'Gara. Senior Nikki Chiricosta and freshman Hannah Drayton each picked up singles victories in straight sets against Ball State, with Chiricosta downing Kristel Sanders by identical 6-2 scores.
Drayton outlasted the Cardinals' Marin Kanii in a 7-5 opening set, then rolled to a 6-1 victory in the second set. Drayton (3-2), Chiricosta and Reuland (both 3-3) each won three total matches on the UC trip.
The Falcons close the fall portion of the schedule next weekend, heading to Kalamazoo, Mich., to participate in the WMU Super Challenge. That three-day tourney begins Friday (Nov. 8).
