Griffin Named MAC Swimmer Of The Week Again

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University freshman swimmer Victoria Griffin was named the Mid-American Conference's Swimmer of the Week for the second time this year after setting a new school record in the 100 freestyle.

Griffin, who led the Falcons to a fourth place finish at Northwestern's TYR Invitational, became the first BGSU swimmer to ever post a time of better than 50 seconds in the 100 freestyle. Her 49.87 met the NCAA "B" cut and provided her with one of her two victories on the weekend.

Griffin was also part of the 200 freestyle relay team that finished first and was on the 400 freestyle relay team that placed second. Individually, she added a third place finish in the 50 freestyle and was a member of the third-place 400 medley relay team.

BGSU will have two weeks off before competing at the US Short Course Nationals in Knoxville, Tenn. Dec. 5-7.
