Falcons Retain Cup With 7-5 Win Over Ohio

The Bowling Green State University women's golf team defeated the Ohio Bobcats by a final score of 7-5 to retain the Spring Challenge Cup. Leading 3.5-2.5 heading into the final day of action, the Falcons won three individual matches, while another match finished all square to secure the win for the Orange and Brown.
Picking up wins on Wednesday afternoon were Amy Ruthenberg (3&2), Hannah Lewis (4&3) and Patricia Holt (3&2), while Lily Bartell's matched finished all square. Both Shelby Wilson and Bailey Arnold lost their individual matches 2&1.
The series with OU is now tied at two wins a piece. The Bobcats won the first two Spring Challenge Cup matches, but after an 8-2 win last season, combined with this year's victory, the Falcons have knotted up the series versus the fellow opponent from the Mid American Conference.
Overall, senior Amy Ruthenberg was 3-0 to lead the Falcons, while Lily Bartell (2-0-1) and Patricia Holt (2-1-0) also chipped in to help with the win.
BGSU won't have long to celebrate the victory though, as they will compete in the Rio Verde Intercollegiate, beginning on March 8.
