BGSU Season Scores
The Bowling Green State University women's golf team will host the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational this weekend, beginning on Sat., April 13 at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green Ohio.
The 36-hole event will feature 15 teams. The entire list includes: Ashland, Bowling Green, Chicago State, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, Ferris State, Findlay, Indianapolis, IPFW, Loyola, Niagara, Northern Illinois, Northwood, Oakland, Ohio.
This will be the third year the tournament has been named after Dolores Black. Black coached the Falcons from 1969-1976.
Since 2007, head coach Stephanie Young and the Falcons have hosted the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational (was just named the Falcon Invitational from 2007-10), capturing the tournament in 2007-08 with a 54-hole score of 946. Since then the tournament was shortened to 36 holes, with BGSU's best finish coming last season, a fifth-place score of 649.
BGSU is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Colonel Classic, recording a 54-hole score of 924, matching the lowest score in the history of BGSU women's golf.
Overall, the Falcons are averaging 309.05 this season, which would destroy the current BGSU scoring average, set last season at 318.57.
Lineups for BGSU have yet to be determined, but all 10 Falcons are expected to compete over the weekend as a part of the team or as individuals. Stay tuned to bgsufalcons.com or follow @DaveMeyerBG on Twitter for more updates on the women's golf team.
