Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University cross country/track and field coach Lou Snelling has announced that the programs have added six student-athletes for the 2013-14 season. Tina Perrine (Middleburg Heights, Ohio/Baldwin Wallace University), Alicia Arnold (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS/Lake Erie College), Gabrielle Edwards (Southfield, Michigan/Walled Lake Central HS), Brianna Johnson (Bedford Heights, Ohio/Beaumont Academy), Connor Kempf (Fort Wayne, Indiana/Northrop HS) and Raven Porter (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights HS) will all compete for the Falcons.
"We are excited about these six student-athletes becoming part of our Falcon Family and rounding out our overall recruiting class of twelve this year," Snelling said. "They will undoubtedly help us both from an ability and depth standpoint. I would like to thank our staff, particularly coaches Matt Conly and James Gildon, for the job they have done. Our athletic and academic goals are high for this program. It is critical that we continue to make positive steps in the MAC this year. "When we were given the opportunity to potentially have Tina join us for a season, we jumped at it. She will have only the 2013-2014 season with us but she will bring some experience and maturity to the throws group which will be very valuable. I know she is very excited about having this unique opportunity to join us and compete in Division I. She is a thrower with a lot of ability that hasn't been tapped into yet, as she didn't begin throwing until she was a junior in high school. So her training age is still young and there is a lot of room for growth in a short period of time. I think that Tina is going to be able to have an immediate impact for us, so we are very excited to have her here next year."
