The Falcons have a road record of just 3-12 on the season, but have not played a true home game this season.
Brian Bien, a junior shortstop from Cincinnati, leads the Orange and Brown with a batting average of .384. He had a 22-game on-base streak snapped in Sunday's second game. Bien has a team-high on-base percentage of .446, as he has walked 11 times to just six strikeouts. Brandon Howard, another Cincinnati native, has been on fire as of late, raising his batting average to .375.

He has started two games. In his last appearance, Fitzwater was part of history, combining with Chris Miller for the program's ninth no-hitter of all-time.
Checking In On Cincinnati
Cincinnati enters the week with an overall record of 9-16, but will host Miami on Tuesday night before Wednesday night's matchup with the Falcons. The Bearcats are coached by first-year skipper Ty Neal, who came to Cincinnati from Indiana where he was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. UC has a home record of 6-4 entering the week and is 1-5 in the American Athletic Conference.
Ian Happ, a sophomore from Pittsburgh, leads the Bearcats with a .348 batting average. He has started all 25 games, recording nine doubles and a team-high 19 RBI. He has also walked 19 times already for an on-base percentage of .464. Will Drake, a transfer from University of Michigan, is second on the team with a .345 average.
As a team, Cincinnati has a batting average of .251 and an ERA of 4.12. The Bearcats are still undecided on a starting pitcher for Wednesday night's game (as of Tuesday, 3:00 p.m.). Eight different UC pitchers have started at least one game so far this season.
The Weekend In Review
Bowling Green 'hosted' Northern Illinois in Mid-American Conference action last weekend in Westfield, Ind. Due to unplayable field conditions in Bowling Green, the series was moved to a neutral site at Westfield Grand Park near Indianapolis. In the first game of the series, the Falcons fell behind early and could not recover, dropping a 9-0 decision at the hands of the Huskies to fall to 0-4 in MAC play.
The weather on Saturday forced a postponement to Sunday, when the two teams played a doubleheader. In the first game, Mike Frank was dominant on the mound, tossing 7.0 innings of one-hit baseball. He allowed one unearned run as the Falcons cruised to a 4-1 victory. In the second game of the day, BGSU did not get a hit during the first four innings, but cracked the code in the fifth, scoring five runs to take a 5-1 lead. The Falcons would coast to a 7-3 win over the Huskies.
Around The Bases With BGSU Baseball

- Logan Walker led the Falcons over the weekend, reaching base in seven of 11 plate appearances. He also added a triple, two RBI and stole a base.
