Thomas, Pettigrew Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player , a senior from Litchfield, Ohio, hit .385 with a team-high seven runs scored as Bowling Green went 3-1 last week. He also added four RBI and was on base 11 times in the four-game stretch. In a 7-3 victory over Michigan, Thomas scored two runs and doubled. He was on base three times in that game. In Sunday's win over Kent State, Thomas drove in three runs as he went 3-for-4 with a triple.

Jeanette Pettigrew, a senior from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, ran the fastest 100 time in the Mid-American Conference this year, improved her season-best time in the 200 to second place in the MAC and set a new personal best to win the long jump at the Gina Relays with the fifth-best leap in the conference this year. On top of that, she ran a leg of the 400 relay team that finished with the second-best time in BGSU history.
