Griffin Wins Co-Women's MAC Swimmer Of The Week

Cleveland, Ohio – Bowling Green State University sophomore Victoria Griffin was named the Mid-American Conference's Co-Swimmer of the Week for her success in the team's back-to-back meets this weekend. This is Griffin's fifth time winning the award in her career as a Falcon, and second time this season.Â

The Falcons defeated Marshall twice in as many days, and also took down Big Ten foe Michigan State as well as conference rival Toledo. Griffin swam her way to a team-high five individual event victories in BGSU's meets Friday and Saturday. She was also a part of two winning relay teams. The sophomore remains undefeated in the 50 freestyle this season, swimming times of 23.61 and 24.10 seconds this past weekend. She won the 100 freestyle in both meets and took first in the 200 free against Michigan State and Marshall. Griffin's strong performances helped the Falcons improve their undefeated dual meet record to 7-0 overall this season.Â

The team returns to action Jan. 23 at 5 p.m. against Akron. It will also be senior night for five Bowling Green swimmers and divers.
