Bowling Green, Ohio -- The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team hits the road for a pair of MAC contests this weekend, beginning with Kent State on Friday and wrapping up with Ohio on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons seek their seventh win of the season, which hasn't been done since 2008.
FALCONS AT A GLANCE
BGSU currently holds a 6-7-1 record overall and 2-4-0 in the MAC. The Orange and Brown come off two losses to Toledo and Central Michigan last weekend, and look to improve to 4-4 in the conference this weekend. Individually, Erica Hubert leads the team with seven goals, followed by Mikaela Couch with five. Senior co-captin Haley Parkinson co-leads the team in assists (four) along with Couch. Fellow captain Lauren Cadel has a team-high 90 saves for BGSU.
COACH'S COMMENTS
"I'm really looking forward to seeing us compete this weekend. This week we tried to give the players what we thought would best prepare them physically, mentally and tactically for Kent and Ohio. We worked on finding a few new solutions in the attack and gaining confidence around goal. If we focus on the process and playing to our strengths, I likeour chances to get points on the weekend," said head coach Lindsay Basalyga.
SCOUTING KENT STATE
Kent State (7-5-2, 3-3-0 MAC) comes off two Mid-American Conference losses last weekend to Ball State and Miami (OH). The Golden Flashes are one of the top offenses in the MAC, leading the conference in points, goal and assists. Kent State's roster features Jenna Hellstrom, who ranks first in the MAC in goals (nine), assists (eight), points (26)and shots (47). Three goalkeepers have seen playing time for Kent State, but Ashleah McDonald leads the team with 56 saves in 1091 minutes on the pitch.
LAST MEETING VERSUS THE GOLDEN FLASHES
(Oct. 19, 2014) BGSU got a goal from then-freshman Skylar Fleak in the 27th minute to shutout the Golden Flashes of Kent State 1-0 on Senior Day at Cochrane Stadium. It was the second straight win for the Falcons. Despite Kent State outshooting the Falcons 25-11 overall, both teams put 10 shots apiece on goal in the 90 minute contest. Kent State also held a huge 9-2 advantage in corner kicks over BGSU; however, Bowling Green totaled 10 saves compared to the Golden Flashes' nine.
BGSU VS. KENT STATE ALL-TIME SERIES
Bowling Green holds a record of 11-5-5. The Falcons have not lost a home match the Golden Flashes since 2001, compiling a 5-0-4 record at Cochrane Stadium since that loss.
SCOUTING OHIO
Ohio University enters the contest with a record of 4-9-0 overall and 2-4-0 in the MAC. Individually, Stephanie Rowland leads the team with five goals and 11 points. Hannah Jaggers' two assists is a team-high through 13 games. Like Kent State, Ohio has seen goalie production from three players, but Taylor Smith leads the team with 40 saves in eight starts.The Bobcats face Eastern Michigan on Friday afternoon before the game against Bowling Green Sunday.
LAST MEETING VERSUS THE BOBCATS
(Oct. 17, 2014) Bowling Green overcame rain, wet field conditions and a 1-0 halftime deficit with two second half goals from Madison Schupbach and Leah Runkle to upend the Ohio Bobcats 2-1 at Cochrane Stadium. Not to be lost in the come from behind win was Lauren Cadel's 14 saves. For Schupbach, it was her second goal of the season and Runkle's first as a Falcon. Ohio outshot BGSU 27-20 for the match and held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks on the night.
BGSU VS. OHIO ALL-TIME SERIES
The Falcons enter the match with a 3-11-4 all-time record against Ohio. Prior to last season's 2-1 win, BGSU last defeated the Bobcats in 2007 in a 1-0 double overtime victory.
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
BGSU set a women's soccer school record of 803 at the season opener against Chicago State. The Falcons did not allow any goals in their first three home games of 2015, propelling them to a 3-0 record at Cochrane Stadium. BGSU has recorded four shutout wins at home. The team's last match at Cochrane Stadium resulted in a 2-1 victory, thanks to a goal by Erica Hubert in the 89th minute.
MAKING HISTORY
*BG women's soccer had a record-setting crowd of 803 at the season opener against Chicago State.
*The win Aug. 21 was the team's first victory in a season opener since 2004.
*BGSU opened the season 2-0-0 for the first time since 2000.
*It is the first time in school history the Falcons have shut out its first two opponents.
*Through three home games, the Falcons recorded 11 goals, which was more than the five goals the team scored at home a year ago.

*The Falcons' 23 goals this season is more than the team's 15 goals scored in 2014.
*The Orange and Brown opened the conference schedule 2-2, a record that hadn't been hit since 2010.
CAREER LEADER - LAUREN CADEL
Redshirt-junior Lauren Cadel's stellar play has continued into 2015, already having earned MAC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season. Following this past week, she moved into third all-time for career saves and career shots on goal faced. Cadel set a school record this sesaon with 19 saves in BGSU's double-overtime draw with Valparaiso for her 13th career game with double digit saves. She is already BGSU's career leader in games with double digit saves with only two full seasons on the pitch for the Falcons. With her six total games with 10 or more saves last year in 2014, Cadel sits atop of the career record books with 15 career games with double digit saves. She also registered six games with double digit saves in her first year between the pipes for BGSU in 2013.
CAREER HIGHS FOR COUCH
Mikaela Couch has had a breakout season for the Falcons thus far, ranking second on the team in goals (five) and co-leading in assists (four). She started the season scoring a goal in five of the team's six opening matches. The sophomore has a career-high 14 points on the season, just one behind teammate Erica Hubert.
HUBERT'S RETURN
Redshirt freshman Erica Hubert is seeing action for the first time in her BGSU career due to an injury suffered last season. Through 14 games, she has 15 points, seven goals and one assist. Hubert scored her first career goal in the season opener against Chicago State, also recording her first career assist in the 4-0 victory. On Aug. 23 against IPFW, the Ontario native capitalized on her shot from the top of the box to score her second goal of the season. For her performance in the team's opening two matches, she received her first ever MAC Player of the Week award.
FALCONS ALL-TIME VERSUS THE 2015 FOES
BGSU enters the 2015 season having played all but one of its opponents prior to this year. The Falcons are 90-124-28 all-time versus their 19 regular season foes in 2015, including having posted double digit wins over Buffalo and Kent State, as well as wins over Akron, Kent State, Ohio and Chicago State in 2014.
PICKED FIFTH IN THE EAST IN THE 2015 MAC PRESEASON POLL
The Bowling Green State University Falcons were picked to finish fifth in the East Division by the MAC Coaches. The Buffalo Bulls are the favorite to win the East Division regular season title, while the Ball State Cardinals and Western Michigan Broncos are the tied favorite to win the West Division. In the East Division following Buffalo, Miami is predicted to finish second with Kent State (3), Ohio (4), Bowling Green (5) and Akron (6).
ACADEMIC SUCCESS
The Falcons were named a 2014-15 College Team Academic Award winner, as announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). BGSU posted a cumulative team grade point average of 3.32 and has also earned the honor in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
ON TAP FOR THE FALCONS
Bowling Green wraps up its regular season slate with Eastern Michigan on Oct. 29 to end the 2015 regular season. The game is scheduled for 3 pm in Ypsilanti, Mich.
