WHAT COACH SALSBURG IS SAYING
On this being the first games of the 2015 season: "We are excited to get back onto the field. We have challenged and pushed this team the entire fall and preseason to push past their comfort zone in everything we have placed in front of them. They have really responded great and I am excited to see that tenacity on the field this weekend. I am happy we open with doubleheaders. Most of our season consists of back to back games, which allows us to quickly understand what it will take to be successful throughout the year."
On expectations for the season: "Our expectations for the year are simple. In everything we do we challenge the kids to move forward with championship intent. I believe this team has the potential to grow into that championship team but there is nothing easy about winning a MAC Championship. We have to stay the course, continue to work at the pace we are, and believe in being the more aggressive, gritty team each and every day we take the field."
