Glanzman Named MAC East Player Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference named Bowling Green's Nick Glanzman the MAC East Player of the Week for his efforts over four games this past week. It was the first time this season that Glanzman has been honored with the award and the second time during his career.
Glanzman helped Bowling Green to a 4-0 week, as the Falcons swept their first Mid-American Conference series of the season and will take a season-long winning streak of four games into the MAC Tournament. Glanzman led the Falcons by hitting the first two home runs of his career, as BGSU scored 13 runs in back-to-back games to finish off the weekend sweep. In both Friday's and Saturday's games, Glanzman set a new career mark with three-hit games, scoring four runs and driving in three in the final two games of the weekend. On the week, the Falcons' third baseman had 13 total bases in just 15 at-bats, while recording a team-high slugging percentage of .867.

MAC Baseball East Division Pitcher of the Week
Nick Jensen-Clagg, Kent State, RHP
Junior, Pickerington, Ohio
Throughout his career, Jensen-Clagg has pitched his best in big situations. Â Thursday night was no different as the junior started the final conference series of the weekend in the Diamond Classic for Kids at Canal Park with a lot riding on the series win. Â He allowed just two hits in 6.1 innings while striking out eight. Â The Zips could only hit .095 against him and he allowed just two walks to keep Akron off the bases. Â The victory was Jensen-Clagg's MAC-leading 8th of the year.

MAC Baseball West Division Player of the Week
A.J. Montoya, Freshman, Toledo, Outfielder
Freshman OF A.J. Montoya batted a team-high .588 (10-for-17) with six runs scored, two home runs and four RBI in four games this past week. Montoya hit safely in every contest, including three multi-hit efforts. He began the week with a 2-for-4 performance with a solo round tripper at Wright State on Tuesday. Two days later against Eastern Michigan in the series opener, Montoya finished 1-for-4 with two runs scored. The following afternoon he went 2-for-4 with one run scored, two RBI, one walk and one stolen base vs. the Eagles. The first-year Rocket then wrapped up the regular season with a pefect 5-for-5 effort with two runs scored, one double and a solo home run against EMU. Montoya has now reached base in 20-consecutive games. Â

MAC Baseball West Division Pitcher of the Week
Cameron Palmer, Sr., Toledo
Palmer was simply brilliant on the bump in UT's 7-1 series-opening victory at Eastern Michigan on Thursday. Palmer allowed only one unearned run on two hits with one walk and eight punchouts in 7.0 innings. The fifth-year Rocket kept the EMU hitters off-balance all evening and faced four-or-less batters in six of the frames to tally his team-high sixth win.
