Landi, Arnold Named Pizza Hut Athletes Of The Week
May 18, 2015 | Baseball, General, Women's Track and Field
Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. The final winners for the 2014-15 season are baseball's Tony Landi and track and field's Alicia Arnold.

Male Athlete of the Week
Tony Landi, a sophomore from Geneva, Ill., earned a win and save in relief this weekend, pitching 5.2 scoreless innings in the Falcons' weekend sweep of Buffalo. In Thursday's series opener, Landi pitched the final 2.1 innings in a tight 3-1 ball game, allowing just one base runner to pick up his fourth save of the season. The next day, he came into an 11-11 game and shut out the Bulls over 3.1 innings, striking out two and picking up the win.
Female Athlete of the Week
Alicia Arnold, a junior from Lorain, Ohio, won two silver medals and a bronze at the MAC Championships over the weekend. Arnold posted new personal best times in both the 100 and the 200 as she finished third in the shorter distance and runner-up in the longer. Arnold also ran the second leg on the 400 relay team that posted the second-fastest time in program history to pick up a second-place finish. In total, those three races were worth 22 of the team's 48 points at the MAC Championships.
