Five Falcons Named All-MAC
May 19, 2015 | Women's Track and Field
Cleveland, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the 2015 Outdoor Track and Field All-MAC teams and Bowling Green State University have five student-athletes recognized. Senior Brooke Pleger was named to the first team, while senior Brittany Sinclair, junior Alicia Arnold, junior Kera Lamotte and freshman Dorresha Green were named to the second team.
Pleger was named first team All-MAC after winning the hammer throw at the MAC Championships for the third consecutive year. She broke her own school, meet and conference records by throwing the hammer 228-feet-9 to win the title by 27 feet. In fact, the worst of her six throws would have still won the MAC title by 11 feet. She was also named the conference's Most Outstanding Field Athlete and currently ranks No. 1 in the country in the hammer throw.
Arnold earned second team All-MAC honors after placing second in the 200, third in the 100 and running the second leg of the 400 relay team that finished as conference runner-up. Arnold set a new personal best time in both individual events, ranking among the top three in BGSU history in both. The team's 400 relay time of 45.77 seconds was the second-fastest in program history.
Sinclair, Lamotte and Green were all named to the second team as part of the 400 relay team that was runner-up at the MAC Championships. Along with Arnold, the team broke the school record with a time of 45.72 seconds earlier in the season and then ran 45.77 at the MAC Championships to finish second in a tightly contested race.
A year ago, just two Falcons were named All-MAC (Pleger and graduate Jeanette Pettigrew). It is the most honorees for the program in head coach Lou Snelling's four-year tenure.
