Four Falcons Reach Finals, Bonds 4th in Long Jump on Day Two at MACs

MUNCIE, Ind. – Bowling Green made strides on the second day of the MAC Outdoor Championships. Four Falcons raced through preliminary heats and qualified for Saturday's finals on the track, while Kiera Bonds reached the podium in the long jump with a fourth-place finish in the field.
The heptathlon resumed at 10 a.m. with the long jump, where Jenna Lucas reached 5.19 meters. She followed with a fifth-place finish in the javelin (34.29m) before closing out the event in the 800 meters (2:44.23) to finish with 4,641 points.
Sierra Brinson (13.21m), Lily Tomasheski (13.17m) and Sierra Podolan (12.69m) finished the morning's events in the shot put.
In the evening, Bonds took to the long jump runway and delivered on her fourth attempt, reaching 6.11 meters to claim fourth place and five points for the Falcons.
On the track, BGSU punched tickets to four finals. Morgan Patterson clocked a 14.15 in the 100-meter hurdles to rank fourth in the prelims. Reagan Campbell qualified in the 400-meter dash with a 55.41, and Kiersten Franklin's 11.73 in the 100 meters sent the senior to her second final of the championships.
Rachael Hoover continued to showcase her mid-distance versatility in the 800 meters, winning the first heat in 2:07.93 to earn the top seed heading into Saturday.
After two days of competition, Bowling Green sits 12th with seven points.
The 2026 MAC Outdoor Championships continue Saturday at 9 a.m. at Briner Sports Complex with the discus throw, concluding in the afternoon with the 4x400-meter relay.
