Pleger Makes Finals At USATF Outdoor Championships; Finishes Eighth

Eugene, Ore. – In her third time competing at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships, Bowling Green State University graduate Brooke Pleger made the finals for the first time in her career, finishing eighth overall with a throw of 220-feet-8 (67.27m).
Following her sophomore season, Pleger finished 11th at the USATF Championships and she placed 10th a year ago after throwing 208-9.
This year, she threw 220-8 on her first throw to qualify for finals in the eighth and final spot. She was unable to improve upon that toss and finished in eighth. Amber Campbell won the championship at 237-5 and DeAnna Price, the defending NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Champion, was second at 237-2. Price and Pleger were the only collegians to make finals.
With the result, Pleger's historic season comes to a close. A three-time All-American, three-time Mid-American Conference champion in the hammer throw, and two-time Academic All-American, Pleger completes her career as one of the most decorated student-athletes in BGSU history.
