Sunday Purdue Invite Results
West Lafayette, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University tennis team completed play at the Purdue Invite Sunday afternoon.
"Great results will come when we hold ourselves to the expectations we have created as a team," head coach Stephanie Dalmacio said. "We showed other teams that we are ready to battle in regionals and in season, but also learned what we need to work on. I'm happy to see the girls smile and have fun on the court."
The Falcons had sophomore Paula Comella and freshmen Marharita-Sophia Tavpash and Megan Horn all compete in flight championships. Comella, Tavpash and Horn all walked away with second place finishes in their respective flights.
Sophomore Polina Radeva finished third overall in the schwartz draw by defeating Emily Struble of Miami (Ohio) 7-6(4), 7-5.
Junior Emily Witt rebounded from a first set loss to Eastern Michigan's Andrea Martinovska to win the match, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6(2).
The Falcons will close out the fall portion of their schedule at Michigan State University for the ITA Midwest Regional, Oct. 20-25.
