Griffin Completes Swim at the U.S. Olympic Trials on Saturday

Omaha, Nebraska – Rising senior BGSU Falcon swimmer Victoria Griffin competed in the 50 meter freestyle event at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Swimming & Diving on Saturday, July 2, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Swimming in lane three of Heat #9 in the 50 meter free preliminary rounds, Griffin touched the wall in a time of 26.53. With her time, she placed in a tie for 121st overall.
The top-16 finishers, which all had times of 25.53 or faster in the prelims, qualified for the semifinals round set for Saturday night.
A 2015-16 All-MAC Second-Team selection, Griffin will look for a solid senior season in 2016-17. She will look to build on a 2015-16 campaign that saw here qualify for the U.S. Olympic Trials with a time of 26.00 in the 50 meter free.
Last season, Griffin also set a school record in the 200 free event, posted the Falcons' fastest time in both the 50 free and the 100 free on the year and totaled 15 first-place finishes combined in the 50, 100 and 200 free events in her junior season.
