This weekend, the Bowling Green women's soccer program will hit the road for the first time of regular season play, as they compete in the Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md.

PREVIEW OF TOWSON
The Tigers have struggled so far early on in the season with starting 1-4-1. In its last match, Towson beat Temple 1-0 with a goal from senior Natalia Pinkey. The Tigers were able to tie St. John's on Aug. 26, in which goalkeeper senior Taylor Sebolao picked up seven saves. Sebolao has a 0.758 save percentage and two shut outs on the season, including both St. John's and Temple. The Pinkey has also been the Tigers leading goal-scorer this season, with two goals in the books. The Towson is averaging 5.7 shots per game with 44 percent of those shots landing on goal.
FALCONS VERSUS THE TIGERS ON THE PITCH
Friday's match will be Bowling Green's first women's soccer match against Towson in school history.
PREVIEW OF NAVY
The Midshipmen are 1-4-1 on the season so far with a win against Niagara 3-1. They have had a few close matches with double overtime games against TCU and UNC-Wilmington, and were able to sneak out with a tie against UNC-Wilmington 2-2. Navy started the season off with a tough matchup against No. 5 Stanford and came up just short with a 2-1 loss. Current leading goal-scorer junior Clare MacAdam has racked up four goals thus far, well on the way to the 12 goals she earned last season. Navy's goalkeeper, senior Dayton Wetherby, has recorded 26 saves so far in the season and currently holds a 1.92 goals allowed average. The Midshipmen also average 8.8 shots per game and 52.8 percent of those shots are on goal.
FALCONS VERSUS THE MIDSHIPMEN ON THE PITCH
Bowling Green is 0-1 against Navy all-time with the only matchup taking place in 2004, in which the Falcon's lost 3-1.
LAST WEEK'S WRAP UP
The Falcon's had a slow week with only one game against Detroit Mercy. The Falcon's defeated Detroit 1-0 after a first career goal from Maureen Kennedy. They had several opportunities throughout the game including shots just wide by Skylar Fleak and a missed jump kick by Morgan Abbitt. On the defensive end, goalkeeper Lauren Cadel made three saves in a fairly quiet night with Detroit only getting off seven attempted shots.
ON TAP FOR THE FALCONS
Up next, the Falcons will face Fort Wayne on Sept. 16 on the road, prior to returning home to Cochrane Field to start Mid-American Conference play against Ohio on Sept. 23.
