BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Despite leading for over 27 minutes of the game, the Bowling Green State University men's basketball team dropped an 88-79 contest at the Stroh Center on Monday (Nov. 13) night to the University of South Dakota. The Coyotes shot 57.6 percent in the second half, including an 8-for-14 mark from downtown, to beat Bowling Green in its home opener.

Bowling Green was led by sophomore guard Dylan Frye and freshman forward Derek Koch. Frye scored 23 points and tied a career high with seven rebounds, while Koch set career highs with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

Matt Mooney proved to be the difference for the defending Summit League champions, as he finished with 26 points, seven assists and five rebounds. After going 2-for-12 in the first half, Mooney scored 22 points in the second half, as he went 7-for-9 from the floor and 4-for-5 from three-point range.

• In the first half, Bowling Green held South Dakota to a 35.7 percent (10-for-28) shooting from the field, which included a 0-for-6 mark from downtown.
• For the game, Bowling Green shot 34.2 percent (25-for-73) from the floor, 32.0 percent (8-for-25) from behind the arc, and 77.8 percent (21-for-27) from the free throw line.
