Ypsilanti, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University tennis team dropped its match to Eastern Michigan by a 6-1 decision Friday afternoon at the Chippewa Club.
"We had a slow start in doubles today and couldn't find our rhythm right away in singles," head coach Stephanie Dalmacio said. "We are excited to come back on Sunday and play at home against our biggest rival."
The Orange and Brown earned their only point in the dual match at No. 3 with sophomore Polina Radeva's win over EMU junior Andrea Martinovska. Up a set 6-2, Radeva dropped the second set 6-4 to Martinovska. Radeva came back to take the third, 6-3.
After starting the first set down 2-1, junior Emily Witt battled back to tie it up at 5-5 against the Eagles Anna Veleva. Veleva went on to win the first set, 7-5. Witt held an early lead in the second set, but ultimately fell, 6-2.
Following today's match, BG will return to action Sunday, March 26 at 1 p.m. to face Toledo at the Perrysburg Tennis Center.
