March 31, 2017 | Women's Tennis
Muncie, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to Ball State University Friday afternoon at the Northwest YMCA.
In doubles, sophomore Paula Comella and freshman Marharita-Sophia Tavpash lost a close match to Audrey Berger and Isabelle Dohanics, 7-6(5).
Sophomore Polina Radeva and freshman Ayumi Sasaki's match versus BSU's Carmen Blanco and Peyton Gollhofer was abandoned with a 7-6 score when the Cardinals captured the doubles point.
"Losing the doubles point didn't help us get through the singles matches today, but we were competitive and fought on every court," head coach Stephanie Dalmacio said. "We will work to be ready when we meet again."
In singles, Comella suffered a loss in her first set, 7-6(4), to Carmen Blanco, but kept it close in the second. Blanco ultimately won, recording a 7-6(4) victory in the second set.
The Falcons return home to face the Miami RedHawks Sunday, April 9 at 1 p.m.
