Women's Golf Finishes Second Overall at the Pine Hills Shootout

HINCKLEY, Ohio – The Bowling Green women's golf program continued the season's action with play in the Pine Hills Shootout Saturday afternoon. The Falcons finished second overall with a total team score of 317, +29 against Youngstown State and Cleveland State.
Freshman Jessica Madry topped the Bowling Green leaderboard for the first time this season with three birdies and a single round score of 77, +5, which marked a season high placing for the Houston, Texas native. Madry also topped the tournament field with a 2.50, -2 average on par 3 scoring on the day. Narrowly trailing Madry was sophomore Erin Fahey, who tied for fourth overall with a single round score of 78, +6 met by 10 par scores and a 4.75, -1 average on par 5 holes on the days play.
Making her third appearance in the Bowling Green lineup was sophomore Julia Durkin, who posted a round of 80, +8 to tie for sixth place. A native of Miramar, Fla., Durkin averaged an even five strokes on par-5 scoring, in addition to six pars and two birdies through the 18 holes of competition. Coming in the fourth spot in the play six, count four action was senior Fran Rodriguez with a score of 82, +10 to finish in a tie for eighth overall. Rodriguez, a native of Flower Mound, Texas, notched nine par scores on the day.
Junior Miranda Dubler carded a score of 84, +12 to place 12th overall in the Pine Hills Shootout while competing in the team lineup. A native of Mason, Ohio, Dubler sunk a pair of birdies and four par scores in the Pine Hills Shootout.
Competing individually for the Falcons was sophomore Sarah Kern, who carded a round of 92, +20, while the Bowling Green lineup was rounded out by junior Madelynn Swank, who came in with a score of 96, +24 to place 18th overall. Swank went 3.50, +2 on par three scoring on the day, while Kern tallied seven par scores in addition to averaging 5.50, +2 on par-5 holes.
The Bowling Green women's golf program will round out the regular season in tomorrow's Spring Challenge Cup match play against Mid-American Conference foe Ohio.
