Ottawa, Ontario - Bowling Green State University sophomore-to-be Kaila Butler finished second in the U20 hammer throw at the 2017 Canadian Track & Field National Championships Saturday, throwing 192-feet-8 (58.72m).

She posted a mark of 184-8 at the MAC Championships.
Â
On Saturday, Butler fouled on her first attempt but had her best mark of the meet on her second toss and led after two rounds. Camryn Rogers took the lead for good in the third round and eventually threw 203-3 to win the meet. Butler also had tosses of 191-0 and 187-6 during her six-throw series.
Â
Butler surpassed the previous meet record in the event of 188-1, which had been posted by Marie Eve Biosselle in 2005.
