The Chippewas (12-3, 4-0 MAC) went 5-for-8 from long distance in the first 10 minutes, and shot 45.5 percent from the arc for the game. CMU also took advantage of BGSU turnovers, scoring 24 points off of 15 Falcon miscues on the night.

For the Falcons (8-7, 0-4 MAC), no player scored more than seven points, but six players scored at least five. Sophomore Andrea Cecil, junior Carly Santoro and senior Haley Puk each had seven points, with Santoro adding six boards.

QUOTING COACH ROOS
"I'm really disappointed. We got shots that we wanted early on, but we missed 12 to 14 layups in that first half. No matter who you are playing, when you couple that with nine turnovers, it leads to the deficit we faced at halftime. I was happy we got them; those are shots that we can make. Unfortunately, we weren't able to reward ourselves by seeing the ball go into the basket. When that happened, for the first time in a while, we lost a little bit of our energy, and Central took advantage of that. The momentum shifted quickly to them."
Â
"At the end of the day, when you struggle to make shots, it's going to be a tough night. And, when you play a team like Central at their arena, it's going to lead to a deficit that is too large to overcome."

FIRST-HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- The lead changed hands several times in the early moments. After the Chippewas scored on the opening possession, the Falcons answered with five-straight points. Carly Santoro fed Andrea Cecil for a corner three on BG's first possession, and after a Central miss and a Santoro rebound, the junior pulled up and hit a jumper for a 5-2 lead.
- The Chippewas answered with five consecutive points, all by Frost, and after a turnaround shot by freshman Sierra Thompson tied the game at 7-7, the Chippewas went on a 10-0 run that included a pair of three-pointers by Micaela Kelly. Cecil's three-point play stopped that run with 2:09 left in the quarter, but a Maddy Watters three helped the hosts build a 25-14 lead after one quarter.
- The second period opened with a Presley Hudson triple, and moments later, Tinara Moore's three-point play gave the hosts a 31-15 lead.
- BG scored the next four points, as redshirt freshman Clare Glowniak scored inside and senior Haley Puk was fouled on a drive and hit two free throws, but a Watters jumper began a 9-3 run for the Chippewas.
- Puk followed that Watters bucket with a triple, but Cassie Breen answered with a trey. The hosts extended the lead to 19 points on a Hudson trey at the 4:02 mark, and back-to-back layups by Kyra Bussell gave the hosts a 47-24 lead with 3:17 left in the half.
- Freshman Kennedy Williams entered the game and promptly hit a three from the top of the arc, but the hosts then scored the final six points of the quarter to take a 53-27 lead into the intermission.
SECOND-HALF HIGHLIGHTS
- BG scored on each of the first three possessions of the third quarter, with a pair of Glowniak buckets bookending an and-one layup and free throw by Santoro. But, the Chippewas responded with a 10-0 run, capped by a Hudson trey.
- Freshman Angela Perry's hoop started a four-point BG run, but a three-point play by Moore extended the lead to 30 points and began a nine-point surge for the hosts.
- The fourth quarter saw senior Rachel Myers finish drive for an and-one layup and free throw. Freshman Madisen Parker knocked down a long-range attempt, while Sierra Thompson backed her defender down for a bucket, then found junior Maddie Cole for a layup on the next possession. But, it was not nearly enough to cut into the CMU lead.
- Frost capped her 25-point night by leading all fourth-quarter scorers. She played seven minutes of the final period, scoring six points as CMU outscored the Falcons, 14-12, in the fourth.
