"Ball State was red hot and we were the complete polar opposite. I don't believe we'll play like this again, but unfortunately we did play like this tonight."
Â
Credit Ball for coming out and attacking, and changing some things up defensively. But, we struggled to shoot the ball up and down the entire roster. A lot of people got minutes, but our percentages in this game were not typical of the way we can shoot, and things snowballed in the wrong way for us. We've got to regroup, because we've got a big game coming up on Saturday."

WHAT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals took a quick lead, scoring five points over the first two possessions. Carmen Grande hit a layup to begin the game, then fed Moriah Monaco for a three-pointer with just 45 seconds gone.
- But, junior Carly Santoro found senior Haley Puk for a right-wing three-pointer, and after several scoreless minutes, redshirt freshman Clare Glowniak blocked a BSU shot attempt, leading to a rebound by Puk. The ensuing possession saw junior Sydney Lambert pull up for a jumper that tied the score.
- BSU answered with a pair of and-one layups, splitting the free throws, and the Cards had a 10-6 lead at the 4:33 mark.
- The Cardinals pressed, and Lambert broke the press, heading over midcourt and finding a wide-open Santoro for an easy layup.
- The hosts responded with a quick 5-0 run, and Aliyah Walker's layup gave BSU a 15-7 lead. Out of a timeout, however, sophomore Andrea Cecil drove the length of the court, was fouled and hit a pair of free throws to cut the Cards' lead to six.
- Then, however, the Falcons were held scoreless for over 11 minutes. By the time freshman Madisen Parker drove and hit a layup, just 1:24 remained in the half and the Cardinals had a 41-11 lead. BSU took a 45-13 advantage into the intermission.
- It was more of the same in the second half, as BG could not cut into the BSU lead.
- Freshman Kennedy Williams took a pass from senior Rachel Myers and knocked down a three-pointer early in the third quarter, and Williams then lobbed the ball inside to classmate Angela Perry for a nifty banker.
- With the Falcons running after a Perry defensive rebound, Williams found Myers for a corner three, and Perry then grabbed an offensive rebound and put the ball back up and in.
- In the fourth quarter, Williams converted a nice driving layup midway through the period, and freshman Terri Battle corralled an offensive rebound and quickly hit a foul-line jumper out of the media timeout.
- Freshman Sierra Thompson prevented a BG turnover, diving to the floor to grab a loose ball and flipping it to Parker, who knocked down a three-point try with just over two minutes to go.
