
Western Michigan Tops Bowling Green In Offensive Shootout

Bowling Green held a 21-7 lead at halftime, but a 35-point second half from Western Michigan, including a 21-point third quarter, allowed the Broncos to complete the comeback.

OFFENSIVE NOTES
• Jarret Doege completed 21-of-34 passes for a career-high 379 yards. He threw three touchdown passes, marking the 11th-consecutive game that he's accounted for multiple touchdowns.
• Doege has thrown for over 300 yards in two of the last three games, as he threw for 305 yards at Georgia Tech on Sept. 29.
• Andrew Clair rushed for 82 yards on six carries. He gave Bowling Green a 7-0 lead with a 74-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter.
• Ra'veion Hargrove ran for a 35-yard touchdown in the third quarter for his first-career collegiate touchdown.
• RB Marlow III caught five passes for a career-high 98 yards, including a 50-yard reception in the second half.
• Scott Miller had eight catches for a career-high 206 yards. He also added two touchdowns. Miller reached the 200-yard milestone for the first time in his career, and has now posted 100-plus yards receiving in nine games across his career.
• Miller's 206 yards receiving is the first 200-yard game for a Falcon since Roger Lewis had 201 yards at Buffalo on Oct. 3, 2015. It's the most since Lewis had 261 yards against Memphis on Sept. 9, 2015.
DEFENSIVE NOTES
• The Bowling Green defense forced two interceptions on the day. Clint Stephens had a highlight-reel, full-extension, one-handed interception, while Milton picked off a pass after Kholbe Coleman hurried and hit quarterback Jon Wassink. Both interceptions took place in the second quarter.
• Brandon Harris led the defense with a career-best 20 tackles. Harris had 13 solo tackles, and 1.0 tackle for loss.
• Jerry McBride III (13) and Kholbe Coleman (11) registered double-digit tackles for the Orange and Brown.
• Fred Garth recorded eight tackles, while Kyle Junior and Montre Gregory each chipped in with seven tackles apiece.
• Marcus Milton added three tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss. Milton also had two pass breakups, while Clint Stephens, who had four tackles, notched three pass breakups.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES
• Matt Naranjo made his punting debut for the Falcons. Naranjo punted five times for 199 yards, averaging 39.8 yards per punt. Naranjo had a long of 48 yards, while dropping one punt inside the 20.
• Nate Needham made all five of his extra points.
UP NEXT
• Bowling Green travels to Athens, Ohio next weekend to take on the Ohio Bobcats at Pedan Stadium. Kick-off is slated for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20.
