Bloomington, Minn. – Two players on the Bowling Green State University hockey team have been voted WCHA Players of the Week.
Sophomore Cameron Wright has been voted WCHA Forward of the Week, while Junior Ryan Bednard has been voted WCHA Goaltender of the Week.
Cameron Wright led the WCHA last week with two goals, five points, and a +5 rating in his contributions to a 2-1-0 week for the Falcons.
Wright had the game-winning goal and an assist in the Falcons' 6-2 road win last Tuesday (Oct. 9) at then No. 18 ranked Western Michigan. He then scored a goal Friday (Oct. 12) at Robert Morris, before rounding out his week with two assists in BGSU's 6-0 home victory over the Colonials on Sunday (Oct. 14).
This is Wright's first WCHA weekly award of the 2018-19 season and his second career honor.

Ryan Bednard collected a pair of wins in his two starts for the Falcons stopping 49-of-51 shots he faced. He led WCHA goalies that made multiple starts with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .961 save percentage.
His 34 saves lifted Bowling Green over Western Michigan in Tuesday's 6-2 win. Bednard then followed it up in his next start with a 15 save shut-out in BGSU's 6-0 win over Robert Morris. This is Bednard's first WCHA weekly award of the 2018-19 season and his third career honor.
The Falcons now have three total WCHA weekly award winners on this young season, with Stephen Baylis picking up his award following the first week of the season.
The Falcons' next game will be home in Slater Family Ice Arena on Tuesday Oct. 23 against No. 19 Western Michigan at 7:37 pm. This will be the second game of a home-and-home series between the Falcons and Broncos.
