- The Bowling Green State University hockey team will take on the Buckeyes of Ohio State in a home-and-home series over homecoming weekend.
- The Falcons will play the first game of this series on the road in the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7:07 pm.
- The Falcons will then return home to Bowling Green to play Ohio State in Slater Family Ice Arena on Saturday, Oct. 27 for a 7:07 pm puck drop.

- Ohio State enters this series against Bowling Green having split a home series with UMass over this past weekend.
- Their 6-3 loss on Friday (Oct. 19) night caused a slight drop for them in the USCHO.com poll from No. 1 last week to No. 4 this week.
- Their first two wins of the season came against Arizona State to start the season.

- All-time, the Bowling Green Falcons hold a 93-63-8 advantage over Ohio State. Their most recent matchup saw Ohio State win 6-1 in Columbus on Oct. 22, 2016.
- Though the Buckeyes swept the season series that season (2016-17), a year before it was Bowling Green who won both games to start the 2015-16 campaign.
- This gave Bowling Green its most recent win over the Buckeyes on Oct. 10, 2015 by a score of 2-0 at home.
- Excluding last season, these two in-state historically CCHA rivals have played every year since the conference disbanded following the 2012-13 season.
- Since the CCHA disbanded the two schools have played eight times with the record deadlocked at 4-4-0.

- The Bowling Green State University hockey team enters this matchup following a 4-1-0 start to the 2018-19 campaign.
- The Falcons were off last week before playing their fifth game this past Tuesday night. Prior to that BGSU began their season playing four games over an eight day period. This included three games on the road in seven days.
- Bowling Green State gave the home crowd another great show, capturing a 4-1 victory over the #19 Western Michigan Broncos on Tuesday (Oct. 23).
- Despite Western Michigan scoring the first goal of the night, BGSU fought back, leading in shots on goal (30-20) and ultimately winning the game completing the season sweep of the Broncos.
- Stephen Baylis led the way for the Falcons, scoring a goal and adding an assist. He was joined by both Craggs brothers, as well as Max Johnson, in the score column.
- Bowling Green won their first meeting with the Broncos on Oct. 9 by a final of 6-2.
- With this most recent victory, Falcons Head Coach Chris Bergeron tallied win No. 150 at the helm of the Orange and Brown

- Coming into this series with the Buckeyes, four Falcons remain top 10 in the nation in scoring. Brandon Kruse and Max Jonson remain tied for third with nine points each. Stephen Baylis and Connor Ford sit tied for 10th with seven points each.
- To this point in the season, Bowling Green has outscored their opponents by a total of 26 to 8 in goals scored.

- Having only played in three of Bowling Green's five games so far this season, senior forward Stephen Baylis leads the team in goals at four. This includes a hat trick he scored the Falcons' season opening 8-2 victory at Mercyhurst on Oct. 6.
- Baylis' four goals are enough for him to be tied for No. 5 nationally in goals scored, and tied for No. 10 in total scoring with seven points. He is the only player nationally to be ranked this high on either list at only three games played.

- Junior goaltender Ryan Bednard enters this series off to a 4-0-0 start to the 2018-19 campaign. This includes a 15 save shutout in Bowling Green's home opening 6-0 victory over Robert Morris on Oct. 14.
- 'Bedzy' has made 86 saves and allowed only five goals to post a save percentage of .945. His goals against average is 1.25.

- Bowling Green was voted to finish second overall in the UAHhockey.com WCHA Media preseason poll, and third in the 2018 Mankato Free Press preseason poll.
- Junior Falcon defenseman Alec Rauhauser was voted First Team All-WCHA by both the media and the coaches. Rauhuaser's contributions to the 2017-18 campaign included leading the squad with 39 points by nine goals and a team-leading 30 assists. The 39 points marked the most by a single Falcon since the 2008-09 season.Â
- Three more Falcons were voted Second Team All-WCHA by the media. Sophomore forward Brandon Kruse, senior defenseman Chris Pohlkamp and junior goaltender Ryan Bednard all made the cut.

- For the upcoming season, the Falcons will look to return 12 of 16 forwards, all seven defensemen, and all three goaltenders from the 2017-18 campaign that saw the Falcons claim a Great Lakes Invitational Championship.
- Bowling Green garnered 159 points in the media preseason poll, and 76 points in the coaches'. Â The Falcons also had one vote for the top finish on the year in the media preseason poll.

- With an overall record of 23-12-6 in 2017-18, it marked the Falcons' fourth consecutive 20+ win season and fifth straight winning season. Bowling Green had records 21-18-2 in the 2016-17 campaign, 22-14-6 in the 2015-16 campaign, and a 23-11-5 record in the 2014-15 season. Last year was the 22nd season that the Falcons have tallied a 20-plus win season.
- By competing in the WCHA Championship at the end of the 2016-17 season, it marked Bowling Green's first conference championship appearance since 1988.
