MAC office releases preseason coaches poll
The Mid-American Conference women's basketball coaches have had their say, and Bowling Green State University has been picked to finish fifth in the East Division in the 2018-19 season. The Women's Basketball Coaches' Preseason Poll and the Preseason All-MAC Teams were announced Wednesday morning (Oct. 31), in conjunction with the league's media teleconference.
Buffalo and Central Michigan were selected to win their respective divisions in 2018-19, and the Chippewas were also picked to capture the league tournament.
Head coach Robyn Fralick is beginning her first season with the Falcons, who return 10 letterwinners from a year ago.
Fralick and her staff will also have five newcomers, including four freshmen and a transfer, on the 2018-19 roster. That transfer, Alyssa Dean, will be eligible to play for the Falcons following the conclusion of the fall semester.
The Falcons open the season on Tuesday (Nov. 6) at Michigan State, and the home opener is scheduled for one week later, as BG hosts Marshall at the Stroh Center on Tuesday night, Nov. 13.
