>>FALCONS ON TAP
- The Bowling Green State University hockey team will make their first trip to Alaska this weekend to take on the Seawolves of Alaska Anchorage for a two game series.
- The Falcons will face-off with the Seawolves for an 11:07pm ET (7:07 pm local time) puck drop on Friday Nov. 9, and then again at 11:07pm ET on Saturday Nov. 10. Both games will take place at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage.
- This is the first of two trips the Falcons will make to Alaska this season, as Bowling Green will travel to Alaska Fairbanks in January.
>>VERSUS ALASKA ANCHORAGE
- All-time, Bowling Green holds a 13-3-2 advantage over Alaska Anchorage, including an 11-3-2 mark since joining the WCHA.
- During the 2017-18 season the Falcons played the Seawolves four times posting a pair of sweeps (4-0-0).
- The UAA Seawolves are one of three teams in the WCHA with four games played thus far. They have yet to win a conference game this season.
 >>LAST TIME OUT
- The Bowling Green State University hockey team enters this matchup having posted a 6-2-1 record on the year thus far. They opened conference play this past weekend with a 1-1-0 split in a home series with Northern Michigan.
- Bowling Green took game one of the series with a three to one victory over the Wildcats on Friday (Nov. 2) night.
- The Falcons scored three goals outshooting the Wildcats 27 to 23 on the evening.
- Taylor Schneider and Sam Craggs each got their second goal of the season putting the Falcons up by two early. Northern Michigan would cut the lead in half in the second before the Brandon Kruse would seal it for the Falcons with his third goal of the season.
- Bowling Green then fell to the Northern Michigan Wildcats in game two of the weekend series by a final of 2-0 on Saturday (Nov. 2) night.
- The Falcons flashed their sticks throughout the game leading shots on goal 35-15, but the Wildcat defense and goaltending was able to freeze all of their attempts.
>>STATISTICAL STANDOUTS
- Coming into this series with Alaska Anchorage, three Falcons remain top 10 in the nation in scoring. Max Johnson and Brandon Kruse are tied for No. 2 in the nation with 13 points. They lead the team overall in scoring. Stephen Baylis is tied for ninth place with 11 points.
- To this point in the season, Bowling Green has outscored their opponents by a total of 39 to 15 in goals scored.
- Eleven different Falcons come into this series with multi-point games on the season thus far. Brandon Kruse and Cameron Wright have the most with three apiece.
- With its 23-12-6 overall record, 2017-18 marked the fourth consecutive season that the Falcons have reached the 20-win milestone. The four-year stint is the third longest in program history, behind a nine season, and six season stretch.
>>BRANDON KRUSE
- Sophomore forward Brandon Kruse enters this series following the ninth muti-point performance of this career, picking up a goal and an assist on Friday (Nov. 2) night.
- The Vegas Golden Knights prospect continues to be one of the nation's top scorers sitting tied for second place with 13 points. This also leads the team along with Kruse's teammate Max Johnson who also has 13 points.
- 10 of Kruse's 13 points are assists which leads the Falcons and is tied for most in the nation.
>>NATIONALLY RANKED
- The Bowling Green Falcons are currently ranked No. 10 in the most recent USCHO.com poll.
- While dropping one spot from a week ago (No. 9), this is the highest Bowling Green hockey has been ranked since March 16, 2015 when the Falcons were ranked No. 9. The last time BGSU was ranked higher than No. 9 was February 16, 2015 when they were No. 8.
>>PRESEASON POLLS PEG BOWLING GREEN
- Bowling Green was voted to finish second overall in the UAHhockey.com WCHA Media preseason poll, and third in the 2018 Mankato Free Press preseason poll.
- Junior Falcon defenseman Alec Rauhauser was voted First Team All-WCHA by both the media and the coaches. Rauhuaser's contributions to the 2017-18 campaign included leading the squad with 39 points by nine goals and a team-leading 30 assists. The 39 points marked the most by a single Falcon since the 2008-09 season.Â
- Three more Falcons were voted Second Team All-WCHA by the media. Sophomore forward Brandon Kruse, senior defenseman Chris Pohlkamp and junior goaltender Ryan Bednard all made the cut.

>>2018-19 FALCON HOCKEY OUTLOOK
- For the upcoming season, the Falcons will look to return 12 of 16 forwards, all seven defensemen, and all three goaltenders from the 2017-18 campaign that saw the Falcons claim a Great Lakes Invitational Championship.
- Bowling Green garnered 159 points in the media preseason poll, and 76 points in the coaches'. The Falcons also had one vote for the top finish on the year in the media preseason poll.

 >>COMING INTO THIS SEASON
- With an overall record of 23-12-6 in 2017-18, it marked the Falcons' fourth consecutive 20+ win season and fifth straight winning season. Bowling Green had records 21-18-2 in the 2016-17 campaign, 22-14-6 in the 2015-16 campaign, and a 23-11-5 record in the 2014-15 season. Last year was the 22nd season that the Falcons have tallied a 20-plus win season.
- By competing in the WCHA Championship at the end of the 2016-17 season, it marked Bowling Green's first conference championship appearance since 1988.
