Turner Announces Addition Of Five Falcons For 2020

Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University gymnastics coach Kerrie Turner has announced the addition of five gymnasts for the 2020 season. Brooklynn Bloxom (Talty, Texas), Emily Cyphers (Cranberry Township, Pa.), Lily Harsch (Davidson, N.C.), Taylor Jensen (North Prairie, Wisc.) and Callie Schlottman (Savage, Minn.) have all committed to BGSU.
"This incoming class brings a great deal of depth and talent to our program. I am really excited for Brooklynn, Emily, Lily, Taylor and Callie to join our Falcon Family," BGSU head coach Kerrie Turner said. "It is clear that all five of these student-athletes understand the hard-working culture of our program and they are committed to helping BGSU Gymnastics excel. Along with outstanding gymnastics, I expect that this group of women will continue to demonstrate academic excellence within our program. Brooklynn Bloxom is the daughter of Joey and Jana Bloxom and hails from Talty, Texas where she currently attends Spring Creek Academy and is set to graduate in May, 2019.
Bloxom competes for World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA), where she is a three-time JO National Championships qualifier (2015-17). She finished as high as eighth on bars, and 14th on both the floor exercise and in the all-around competition. She is the 2018 Texas state floor champion and placed fourth on floor in region 3 in 2017. In 2016, she was the region 3 all-around champion and finished third on beam, fourth on floor and sixth on bars. She also finished as runner-up at the Texas state championships in 2016 on bars, beam, floor and in the all-around. At the Nastia Cup Qualifier in 2016, Bloxom ended eighth on vault, ninth on floor, 10th on bars and 11th in the all-around. In 2015, she placed sixth in the all-around in region 3 and was runner-up on floor at the 2015 Texas state championships, adding a fourth-place finish on beam and seventh in the all-around.
Bloxom is a National Society Honor member and is undecided on a major. She has two brothers, Chandler and Ashton.
Emily CyphersEMILY CYPHERS
Emily Cyphers is the daughter of Edward and Holly Cyphers and hails from Cranberry Township, Pa. where she attends Seneca Valley High School and is set to graduate in May, 2019.
Cyphers competes for Xcel Gymnastics as part of the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic program. She is a four-time level 10 state qualifier, placing as high as fifth on vault in 2015. She placed eighth on bars in 2017 and 10th on vault in 2016. In region 7, she tied for seventh on vault and finished 12th in the all-around competiton in 2016. She added a 12th place finish on bars in 2017 and a 14th place finish on vault in 2018. Cyphers also earned a third-place result on vault at the 2018 Twistars Invitational.
A National Honor Society member and a National Science Honor Society member, Cyphers plans to study journalism/public relations at BGSU, while looking towards law school. She earned the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania House of Representative's Certificate of Achievement and has been on the highest honor roll in grades 9-12. Cyphers has one sister, Sarah. Lily Harsch is the daughter of Richard and Jennifer Harsch and hails from Davidson, N.C. where she attends William Amos Hough High School and is set to graduate in June, 2019.
Harsch competes for Everest Gymnastics Training Center as part of the USA Gymnastics Junior Oympic program. She is a three-time state and regional level 10 qualifier and has twice qualified for the level 10 Junior Olympic (JO) national meet. Harsch is in her fifth year at level 10, finishing fourth at the Junior Olympics national championships on bars in 2017 and 12th in the all-around. At the 2017 North Carolina state meet, Harsch finished third on bars and at the 2017 level 10 regional meet she was the all-around champion.
In 2016, Harsch was the all-around champion at the level 10 National Gymnastics Challenge. She took first place on vault, beam and floor and was the all-around runner-up at the North Carolina state meet as well. At regionals in 2016, Harsch finished sixth on beam and second on floor. In 2015, she was fourth in the all-around at the North Carolina state meet.
Harsch plans to study exercise science at BGSU with plans of becoming a physical therapist. She has two brothers – Kackson and Owen.
Taylor JensenTAYLOR JENSEN
Taylor Jensen is the daughter of Rick and Jacquie Jensen and hails from North Prairie, Wisc. where she attends Mukwonago High School and is set to graduate in May, 2019.
Jensen competes for Salto Gymnastics Center, where she is a four-time nationals qualifier. In 2018, she placed second in the all-around, vault and floor exercise at level 10 regionals, placing fourth on bars. The year prior, she was seventh in the all-around, with a second place finish on beam and fifth-place result on floor. In 2016, Jensen won the beam, placed second in the all-around and on bars, and finished third on vault.
At Bowling Green, Jensen plans to major in architecture with an eye towards modern residential architecture. She is on high honor roll and has a brother – Alex – and two sisters, Madison and Lauren.
Callie SchlottmanCALLIE SCHLOTTMAN
Callie Schlottman is the daughter of Robert and Darlene Schlottman and hails from Savage, Minn. where she attends Prior Lake High School with an anticipated graduation in June, 2019.
Schlottman competes for Legacy Gymnastics, where she is a three-time national qualifier.
A Board Scholar (Grade Point Average of 3.8-4.0), Schlottman is undecided on a major. She has two brothers, Cole and Noah.
