Falcons Predicted For Top Half Finish In MAC Preseason Poll

Cleveland, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University indoor track and field team has been picked to finish sixth in the Mid-American Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. The Falcons earned 78 total votes in the preseason poll.
BGSU finished third while hosting the MAC Championships a year ago, the program's best result since 1999. The Falcons dominated in the throws events with Aliyah Gustafson earning the MAC Championship in the shot put.
Akron earned seven first place votes and picked up 132 points to be picked to win the MAC. Eastern Michigan had three first place votes and 126 points. Kent State was third and Central Michigan fourth, earning one first place vote. Toledo was selected just ahead of the Falcons, with Northern Illinois and Miami picked seventh and eighth. Western Michigan, Ball State, Buffalo and Ohio round out the poll.
Bowling Green opened the season Saturday night at home by hosting the BG Opener. The Falcons earned three MAC automatic qualifying bids at the meet.
