
Iversen Wins Weight Throw At Michigan’s Silverston Invitational

Ann Arbor, Mich. – Redshirt senior Elizabeth Iversen won the weight throw and placed second in the shot put as the Bowling Green State University indoor track & field team closed out the regular season Friday at the Silverston Invitational, hosted by Michigan.

DOMINATING THE WEIGHT THROW
- Bowling Green took the top three spots in the weight throw and held down four of the top five positions.
- Elizabeth Iversen, who currently ranks second in the MAC in the event, took first place by almost three feet with a distance of 66-feet-1.75 (20.16m).
- Teammate Aliyah Gustafson was second at 63-3.25 (19.28m) and Kaila Butler was third at 60-9.5 (18.53m).
- Allie Farmer finished fifth at 59-7 (18.16m), while Daija Young ended 10th and Zaresha Neal 15th.
IVERSEN DOUBLES UP IN SHOT PUT
- Elizabeth Iversen was the top collegiate finisher in the shot put, finishing second overall with a mark of 52-feet-1.75 (15.89m).
- Zaresha Neal also made finals and ended fifth at 44-6.25 (13.57m).
- Pentathletes BeJai Fray and Peyton Lee placed 11th and 22nd, respectively. Fray had a personal best distance of 42-7 (12.98m).
OTHER RESULTS
- Megan Aalberts set a new personal best in the mile with a time of 5:08.22. That time was more than two seconds faster than her previous best.
- Jessi Lindstrom ran the 800 in 2:18.49 and Rachel Durbin posted a time of 2:19.95. For both, it was the first time running the distance this year.
