FIVE THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
- BGSU's 9-1 start to the season, as mentioned, is the best in school history. The previous best 10-game start by a Falcon team was 8-2 in 2007.
- A total of 18 of the 22 players on the BGSU roster saw action in Sunday's win.
- BGSU has outscored opponents by a 67-17 count this spring, and the Falcons have 103 hits to the foes' 41. BG has 31 extra-base hits, compared to 11 for the opponents.
- Junior Kali Holcomb has a 10-game hitting streak, having picked up at least one hit in every game she has played as a Falcon. Freshman Sarah Gonzalez did not get a hit in the season opener, but has put together a nine-game hitting streak since that time.
- Another freshman, Sammy Dees, has seven multiple-hit games in her 10 contests as a Falcon. Dees has four two-hit games, and Sunday marked the third three-hit game of her young career. She is hitting a team-best .486 on the season.

BGSU-MOUNT ST. MARY'S – HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons struck for a pair of runs against Mount St. Mary's starter Kate Olson in the top of the first inning. Junior Alex Sorgi walked, and freshman Sammy Dees singled. One out later, a walk to junior Kali Holcomb loaded the bases, and junior Kaylee Parker singled up the middle to score the game's first run. Another junior, Kellie Natham, singled to plate Dees before Olson and the Mountaineers averted further damage.
- Junior Meredith Miller allowed a first-inning hit and a second-inning walk, but no runs in that time. In the first inning, she struck out the side, giving up just a single with two down. The following frame saw a sacrifice bunt move the runner to second, but Miller came up with two more strikeouts to end the inning.
- BG put another crooked number on the scoreboard in the third inning, scoring three times. Dees led off with a single, and Holcomb's one-out walk put two runners aboard for Kaylee Parker. The junior proceeded to hit a ball down the left-field line for a two-run double. Natham walked, then freshman Sarah Gonzalez walked to load the bases, and a sacrifice fly by senior Laine Simmons scored pinch-runner Taylor Blevins and gave the Falcons a 5-0 lead.
- The Mount got on the board in the bottom of the inning, as Kaylee Stoner singled, moved to third on an error and scored on a Lindsay Heinze double.
- Jordan Weaver entered the circle for The Mount to begin the fourth. She allowed another Dees single, and a throwing error put runners at first and second, but Weaver then got a pair of fly balls to get out of the jam.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Jessica Nines drew a one-out walk, and Stoner hit a two-run homer, cutting BG's lead to 5-3. Junior Brooke Parker came into the game and proceeded to retire the next hitter for the third out. And, BG went back ahead by five runs in the next half-inning.
- Natham led off the top of the fifth with a single, and pinch-runner Nikki Sorgi advanced to third on a foul fly down the left-field line. Simmons singled to score Sorgi, and a base hit by sophomore Kendyl Wheeler moved pinch-runner Logan Everett to second. The two sophs then moved up on back-to-back wild pitches by Weaver, with Everett scoring and Wheeler taking third. Alex Sorgi walked, and Dees singled for the third time on Sunday morning, scoring Wheeler and giving BG an 8-3 lead.
- And, in the sixth, the Falcons broke the game wide open. Holcomb singled, Kaylee Parker walked and Nikki Sorgi reached base on an error, with Holcomb scoring. Gonzalez crushed a ball to left-center for a three-run homer that put BG ahead by nine runs.
- In the bottom of the inning, Brooke Parker allowed a leadoff walk, then retired three-straight hitters, striking out two.
