RIO VERDE, Ariz. – The Bowling Green State University women's golf program wrapped up first-round play at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational on Friday (Feb. 23). The tournament, which is being hosted by Western Michigan University, is being played at the Quail Run course at the Rio Verde Country Club.

Bowling Green sits tied for 14th after the first day of competition. The Falcons shot a 321 team score. BGSU is tied with Central Michigan, while sitting ahead of UMKC (323) and Illinois State (331). Arkansas-Little Rock carded a 305 to sit in first place.

"I am proud of our fight today in the cold and windy conditions," said head coach Stephanie Young. "We finished most of our rounds strong at the end, but weren't able to meet our team score goal. There are two rounds left, and we are looking forward to the challenge."
