
Cox Ties For First, Falcons Finish Third At Sand Ridge Shootout

CHARDON, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf program wrapped up competition at the Sand Ridge Shootout on Friday (April 13) afternoon. The 18-hole event was hosted by Cleveland State at the Sand Ridge Golf Club in Chardon, Ohio.
Freshman Nichole Cox tied for first on the individual leaderboard by carding a 74 on the day. Cox's tied for first place finish marks the best finish of her young Falcon career. Cox tied for the individual title with Youngstown State's Megan Creager and Katlyn Shutt.
As a team, Bowling Green carded a 314 to finish in third place out of four schools. Youngstown State posted a 305 to finish in first place.
Along with Cox, Erin Fahey (76) and Madelynn Swank (79) also posted scores in the 70's. Fahey finished tied for fifth, while Swank finished in 10th. BGSU's lineup was rounded out by Sammi Blackburn (85) and Julia Durkin (86.)
Competing as an individual, Jessica Madry finished tied for 11th by shooting an 80. Individuals Sarah Kern (86), Miranda Dubler (89) and Dani Austinson (91) also competed for the Orange and Brown.
