BGSU Flies Up Leaderboard To Close Out Dolores Black Falcon Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University women's golf program finished out the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on a high note. The Falcons carded a 305 team score to finish in fifth place out of 16 schools. The BGSU-hosted event was staged at Stone Ridge Golf Club.

Bowling Green started the day tied for ninth, but by registering the fourth-best team score on the day, the Falcons finished the 36-hole event with a 625 team score. The University of Indianapolis won the event by carding a 600. The University of Toledo scored a 603 to finish in second.

The Falcons were led by junior Erin Fahey and freshman Nichole Cox – both of which had fantastic final rounds. Fahey shot a 72 on the day to finish tied for 15th, while Cox scored a 74 to finish tied for 24th. The duo played bogey-free golf on the back nine, as Fahey went two-under par and Cox went one-under par on the back nine.

The Orange and Brown also saw contributions from Julia Durkin (159), Sammi Blackburn (161), Madelynn Swank (162), Danielle Austinson (173), Sarah Kern (180) and Miranda Dubler (189).

Bowling Green finished ahead of four Mid-American Conference schools, as BGSU posted a lower team score than Ball State, Akron, Western Michigan and Central Michigan. Â
