Falcons Win Four Events In Final Regular Season Meet

Toledo, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University track and field team concluded the outdoor regular season Thursday and Friday at the Toledo Invitational. The team won four events during the two-day meet.

GUSTAFSON TAKES THE SPOTLIGHT IN THE HAMMER THROW
- Redshirt senior Aliyah Gustafson set a new personal best to win the hammer throw with a toss of 193-feet-11 (59.12m). She climbs to second in program history in the event, behind only three-time first team All-American Brooke Pleger.
- Gustafson ranks second in the Mid-American Conference in the hammer throw with teammate Elizabeth Iversen sitting third, more than seven feet shy of her top mark.
OTHER WINNERS
- Elizabeth Iversen won the discus with a distance of 164-feet-5 (50.11m). That distance was 14 inches shy of her personal best as she heads to the MAC Championships among the top five discus throwers in the conference.
- Ryen Draper set a personal best in the 400 with a winning time of 56.41 seconds, more than two seconds faster than anyone else at the meet. She climbs into solid positioning to qualify for a spot at the MAC Championships in the event.
- Paige Geatz won the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:07.59, about one second shy of her PR.
NOTABLE EFFORTS
- BGSU's 400 relay team had a season-best time of 46.57 seconds, the eighth-best time in school history.
- Freshman Savannah Nevels set a new personal best in the 200 with a time of 24.86 seconds.
- Senior Rachel Durbin recorded a season-best time of 2:19.91 in the 800. Sophomore Rachel Stute just edged Durbin for the team's best time at 2:19.69.

- "Different groups had different goals today. We're happy with what we got accomplished and now we have to move on to get ready for Buffalo. We need to stay healthy and stay focused. Now that we're past finals, we've got a chance to mentally rest a little bit and be ready to get on the bus Wednesday."
UP NEXT
- Bowling Green heads to Buffalo to compete in the three-day MAC Championships beginning Thursday. The Falcons will look to build upon their third-place finish at the MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
